So the RIAA has finally decided to sue individuals who are trading "substantial" amounts music files... ok... go ahead sue me. Most of what I share are Pakistani & Indian mp3s that can be downloaded right off the web, and lets not even talk about p2p networks. Most reports I've read since yesterday's announcement suggest that people are getting extremely pissed at RIAA's new approach. Some has vowed to keep going. Reports also suggest that users might move to more annonymous services like FreeNet. For my own protection I have installed this tiny registry entry that disables people from seeing everything being traded by my account, while still letting people download stuff that they searched for in particular, like the handful of punk rock & pop songs that I have. (take that BayTSP!)

I am also probably one of the very few users who are sharing a complete repository of South Park episodes on KaZaA. But I have already prepared myself incase some dumbass tries to sue me over that... for starters I've saved copies of FAQs at SouthParkStudios.com which clearly state that Mat and Trey, the executive producers & creators of the show, actually love the idea are happy that their fans can get the show anyway possible. Good for me and other South Park fans :)

Anyway lets face it... 4 million users are on KaZaA network alone at any given time... and if only 0.1 of them share over 500 songs (I supposed that's how many you need to qaulify to be on RIAA's list) then they'd have to sue 40,000 people... many not even in the U.S. That's a hell alot of paperwork... and thousands of angry people like me who'd swear never to buy a CD from a RIAA member even again. Why don't they come to their senses, I mean I'd be willing to pay 10 bucks a month to KaZaA for their excellent software and they could throw a few bucks out of that to the filthy bloodsucking bastards at RIAA. Makes sense right?
