Does the RIAA even download the files they claim these people stole? If they do, then arent't they doing something illegel too? I was thinking about making a file that all it says is "Fuck The RIAA and The Dumbasses That Support It" and copying it about 1000 times and naming them titles of songs they are looking for. LOL, all this publicity about file sharing has made it more popular then ever! There are now close to 4 million people on Kazaa at any given time, it has increased!! A lot of good this sueing has done, the RIAA are fighting a losing battle. Plus the Senators even hate their bullshit. There is a bill that has been introduced that will STOP the RIAA from being able to get your private information without FIRST getting a warrant from a judge. Not even the federal authorities can get information on a suspected terrorist without first obtaining a warrant from a judge. This power is temporary and it will be stopped. Then the RIAA will have to file warrants from judges in EACH locality of the United States under a John Doe order and then launch an investigation of that person in order to obtain information and sue. Think of all the work they will have to do to sue people. People have privacy and this whole thing is pure bullshit. It has only made people want to download music MORE (which is why downloading is on the upscale). RIAA, get smart fuckheads, join partnership with Kazaa and Morpheous and the other downloaders and promote money through advertising on the file sharing sites. 50 Million people (all who will not block ads, etc) is prime revenue for avertising. How the fuck you think television makes money? Through advertising, TV is free. Nobody has to fucking pay for public television, only for Cable or satellite if they want more channels. The cosumers pay for the fucking internet provider. The ISP's should have to pay a small revenue to the music industry and then the file sharing networks should pay a percentage from the advertising. They would make FAR more money then they can dream of. Look at televison and see what they make of of free TV just through advertising and from revenues. With something this popular and all the millions of people online downloading paying fucking $20-$75 a month for their Internet service, and advertising and promoting, they could rake in the fucking billions. The problem is the RIAA is too stupid to think of the future wave. They are stuck in the past and expect people to continue going out and paying $15 for every piece of shit CD that is released. It isnt going to happen, a smart business would adapt to the future. The future is in the internet and downloading, MP3s, MP3 players, CD burners, blank CDs. The music companies selling cd's and MP3 players are making a killing. It's an entire industry sitting their like a big pussy waiting to be fucked. i havent come across a copy protected cd yet. rest assured there will be a way around this protection. the technology of the stand-alone cd player HAS to stay the same, the new copy protected discs it reads now, will one way or another have to be the same as the discs it read in the late 80s. one method of this protection, is what i found on my apple ipod mp3 player. the method used by apple, was they hid the file with the mp3s. i took my mp3 player to work and tried to upload my music on my computer at work, and my ipod drive showed no music. all i had to do was unhide the information in my ipod(show all hidden files)and the file "ipod control" appeared. i had access to all of my uploaded music.

i have a hunch that the same method will be used on the new copy protected cd's. they will hide the original cd audio format tracks(INVISIBLE to your computer, but not to your cd player). the tracks VISIBLE to your computer, will be data tracks or already ripped mp3 tracks. these mp3 tracks will play fine on your computer, but there is also a program that will automatically install itself on your computer telling it how many times a song or album has been extracted from the disc. this program will limit the amount of times it is uploaded on to your machine as well as the times it is uploaded from a remote computer.

if you come across a copy protected disc, hold down the shift key to disable autoplay when your cd drive is reading the disc. if all you see are the tracks, then goto "tools", "folder options", the "view" tab, and select the"show all hidden files or folders" option. you might see more than just tracks. i know this because thats what i do when i copy all my playstation 2 games.
