A Pakistani extremist leader was killed in the capital city Islamabad today. Azzam Tariq, was one of the most prominent Sunni mullahs of the country, his followers, groups like the Sipah-e-Sahaba and the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi have been over the years responsible for hundreds of sectarian murders, almost all of them Shiites.
I remember as young kids we used to despise this guy. He openly bashed against the family of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), which we the Shiites consider second to only the Prophet himself. That of course ticked off a lot of people.
His group is responsible for the most hate oriented sectarian Islamic website that I have seen so far. People like him are very much responsible for spreading hate, not only against other sects but also against the west in general and America in particular. No doubt his group, which got banned during the post 9/11 cleanup of Pakistan's extremist infrastructure, definitely had very strong ties to the Taleban. How can then he be elected as a law maker? I don't really understand. May be the towelhead population of Pakistan is growing faster than I imagined.
Anyway, he was a true asshole. But he's dead now, so I don't care. Most probably killed by Shiite extremists, he got was he always asked for... and now his followers can remember him as the "martyr"! Jerkoffs.
