After yesterday's killing of the extremist sunni Azzam Tariq, his followers have turned the country into a fire-hole. All major news sources are reporting burning of Shiite mosques, theatres, gas stations, exchange of fire between the the towelheads who have been given free AK-47s thanks to the Taleban Inc. and police, and even attacks on banks... one of which is abruptly named "Muslim Commercial Bank"! funny how these assholes choose that bank. Although Shiites have done similar things on a smaller street-level scale in past after one of theirs was murdered (Tariq's Taleban-style group has been blamed for over 400 killings in police reports during the past few years alone), no one has ever burnt a mosque before. I guess that's a new low for Pakistan's Islamic society. What a friggin' shame.

Fox News reports that Tariq's militant group has put the blame of the killing on the Minister for Interior, Faisal Saleh Hayyat, who happens to be a Shiite, and the Government of Iran. Meanwhile a previously unknown Shiite militant group has claimed responsibility, claiming that Tariq was an agent of the Jews (atleast they have a sense of humor!). Supposedly the extremists have given the government until thursday to find the responsible ones or else "they will not guarantee peace". Imagine how crazy these people would go when hopefully bin Laden is released of his misery.

Personally speaking, I fear for my family. I remember when I was a kid we used to have this monthly majlis (gathering) at our house, even then people like the Sipha-e-Sahaba were known to attack random Shiite mosques and gatherings, and as a kid that used to scare me a bit while sitting there listening to speakers. From what I know of my father, he wouldn't stop organizing it no matter what. Even during the recents years escalating violence against our religious group, I've been told my family has never skipped even once.

I pray to God that my family be safe and sound.

And finally, I can't thank God enough for letting me get out of such an ugly society. Of course there are many good parts to it, but to me all these other things outweigh the benefits of living there. I sincerely hope that my parents too can move out of there, and that I never have to go back there permanently. Because I'm afraid that these people will never change. They'll just die like this.
