Powerless

Yeah, the night before last we were left powerless, as in without electricity, for like 3 hours... and that too while I was in the most intricate step of cooking a south Asian meal besides chatting about a very very serious issue with someone special. We got our power back 3 hours later, but by that time I had already cooked the food, ate to the fullest and went to sleep.

But then, yesterday my blogging system won't work, apparently due an error at my host. Although they always tout their security and triple redundant power supply to the servers, I will for now presume that it all happened because of a similar power failure at their data center since it's located in New Jersey, I think. Fortunately, their tech. support personnel sitting somewhere besides a slum in India and earning $200 a month managed to fix that problem for me. No sweat there.

The whole crisis wasn't such a big "financial loss" for me though, until last night. My roommate brought home a rechargeble flashlight for such emergencies in the future, which I have to pay for under the invisible laws of you-have-to-share-the-cost-of-everything-bought-for-the-house when sharing the place. But atleast he got a good deal. :)

Nah, it was just enough money that would have bought me a hamburger meal. It was some sort of mutton curry... not sure what it ended being as according to my mom's cookbook.
