For a second there I actually believed that I would be a buying an Apple product soon. I mean a $99 dollar deal for a 2GB storage device / digital audio player seemed to good to turn down. But alas, it was all bullshit.
Steve Jobs instead introduced the cheesy fagnostically colorful 4GB iPod mini for 'chic' price tag of $249. Immediately, I told myself to scrap the plans of getting an iPod, and instead wait a little while for the Microsoft Portable Media Center, which has a much larger full color screen and is capable of playing Windows media video. And unlike the $99 Apple deal which I was only half-sure about, I can safely bet the Microsoft machine will be hacked to death to allow it to play all sorts of popular video formats (think Divx or even Quicktime, which happens to be the only thing from Apple that I really like!). Plus, I never really got over iPod's dirty secret.
I hope the iPod class action lawsuit goes ahead, because I am pissed off. :@
P.S. If you have bought or are planning to buy an Apple iPod mini for $249, please note that your name and photo will be sent to Apple Execs. who will laugh at you everyday for being stupid enough to buy it, which you could have just spent $50 more and bought a better iPod with almost four times the capacity. Even Mac'ies agree. But I was you, I'd simply look elsewhere, there are so many better alternatives to an iPod.
