The "Hot" Girl Next Door

Recently I've not been writing about movies that I've been watching at the theatre. For example, "Hidalgo" and "Dawn of the Dead". Main reasons for that are just preoccupation with school and "other" stuff. Both movies were good, but not as much as to give one the feeling of total satisfaction when leaving a movie theatre. I guess after watching epics like the Matrix Sequels and LOTR movies, nothing seems up to par. Anyway, let's get back to "The Girl Next Door".

Two words: "Not bad..." actually, add another two to that, "Not bad... at all!".

I think people have been comparing it to "Risky Business" way too much. Risky business made Tom Cruise Tom Cruise. I'm not that sure about Emile Hirsch, but he wasn't "bad at all" either. Although it just might actually end up making Elisha Cuthbert a lot more than "the girl next door". I mean, she is genuinely hot, and she definitely showed some skills in this one despite the lack of any high acting requirements in her role. Also, I believe she's improved [A LOT] on her figure from what we saw of her in the supporting role she did as a high school girl in "Old School".

As far as the movie goes, a college girl turned pornstar comes to live in a suburban home somewhere in somewhere (?) right next door to our nerdy class president who lives a boring uneventful life. Then magic happens and they fall for each other. Then, we get her ex-boyfriend and producer, played by Timothy Olyphant. The critics say he really added a lot of life to the movie, and scarily I agree with them on this one. And, when you have a porn star, a porn producer and a bunch of high school kids... what do you get? An Adult Movie Convention in Las Vegas? Exactly.

I'll give this one a 7.8 out of 10.
