Gmail started it all. And now the free email account wars are heating up. Yahoo! has already increased it's free email account limit from 4 to 100MB (paid customers get 'virtually unlimited' space). But Microsoft's Hotmail has been a disappointment. No news, not even 'specualtions'. Some free accounts have been upgraded to 25MB from the current 2MB, but without any notifications or such.
Being a pro-Bill person, I really didn't like that. How can 'we' loose to wannabes like Y! and Google... way.
So gladly, today the Washington Post is confirming that Hotmail will indeed increase free storage on all of it's account and that they're working on 'improving' the service. "We are going to respond in a big way" said an MSN VP. Well, may be this respond would also correct this gramatical nuisance I just noticed at hotmail (see image).
And my account is still 2MB... damn!
