Yes, that's it. John F. Kerry just called George W. Bush to concede. Now the President only has to thank only one entity for his re-election: God. May be I want to say that "stupid hicks" voted to keep the President in office, because he is seen as the defender of their traditional ways, but that'd be an exaggeration, because people from all over voted for him, even more so than the 2000 election. So, congratulations to him and his conservative base, they fought had and proved a informidable majority that the liberals just couldn't handle. People are saying the Democratic Party is gone, but that's because they are disappointed as hell, as expected.
I'm not disappointed. For me it was like the American League Finals, where the Yankees lost wasn't what I expected, but it didn't affect me much. Same for this election. Although I was surprised at the low turn out of young people, may be they got scared of the 6-hour-lines reports. Or may be voters just didn't bother after they heard early exit polls declaring a Democrat victory. (I wonder if that was the real purpose of those early exit poll results?)
So, there you go, back to your daily routines. How this will affect the grassroots campaigns, particularly MoveOn.org, has to be seen. Will these results have any affect on liberal protests, global terrorism, oil prices, and especially Iraq has to been seen. May be the President will redefine this term by winning back the world, re-energizing the economy and even unite the country. But that's all to be seen.
What can already be seen is that at Wall Street the oil industry (Exxon, Halliburton etc.), pharmaceuticals (J&J etc.), defence contractors (Lockheed Martin etc.) are all up. Stem cell research firms are down.
Posted in World View on November 3, 2004 11:19 AMFraud seems likely in both Ohio and Florida; exit polls showed a Kerry victory in Florida until the middle of the night, when they were mysteriously changed — and Ohio is shaping up to be the “new Florida,” with results not coming in for at least ten days.
Put another way: in areas with paper-trail voting, the exit polls reflected results accurately. In areas without, Bush did an average of 5% better than the exit polls said he should have. Would you trust those results? Why?

As far as Ohio is concerned, the Kerry team counted there chances of toping Bush if/when the provisional ballots are counted, but they probably found it to be statistically impossible. Thus the concede.
