Fuckin' Awesome

It's 3:35 in the morning and I'm getting all hyper over SAJAX (or AJAX). Earlier tonight I checked out Google Maps, and it rocks. Not only is it superfast, it's also übercool in the way the map, directions and everything else is rendered. I can only wish to map webapps like that... until now.

It really started about an hour ago when I had this revelation that I need to update the frontpage of this website because it's been more than a year since I launched ver.3. And, so I began my quest... starting at Sothink DHTML Menu and just now ending at SAJAX. You see all these new no-reload webapps that Google keeps churning out rely heavily on one technology: XMLHTTPRequest or AJAX or Asynchronous JavaScript + XML. Oh yes, I have done it in the past with iframes and JS-called window redirects, but this is something totally different. This means that you could go through my entire blog, or this entire website, without leaving this page. (But I don't know how that's gonna affect Googlebot?!?)

Anyway, AJAX is something totally new (most articles I found are from '05) and anyone into dynamic web content should check it out. But hopefully there's enough free knowledge out there for me to have an experimental SAJAX powered frontpage soon.

Stay tuned!

P.S. And check out this AJAX based Shopping Cart. (via MetaFilter)
